Canticos Little Chickies/Los Pollitos Ornaments
Materials needed:
Crayons or colored pencils
Scissors
String, thread, or ornament hangers
Cardstock or cardboard (optional)
Glue (optional)
Instructions:
Let’s decorate the tree!
- Use your favorite colors to fill in the little chickies.
- Cut out each ornament, using a pencil to gently punch through the tiny hole on top.
- Thread a bit of string or thread through the hole and tie a knot with the ends to make a loop.
- Hang your new Canticos ornaments on the tree!
Tip: To make your ornaments more sturdy, try printing on cardstock or cutting out cardboard in the same shapes and gluing to the back of each ornament.

Sophia began teaching in Chicago Public Schools through Chicago Teaching Fellows, learning to support both English Language Learners and students with neurodiverse needs. Among her proudest accomplishments is launching the AltSchool Spanish Immersion Program, with the mission of creating bilingual global citizens who are socially conscious and environmentally aware. Sophia holds a B.A. from Northwestern University and M.A.Ed. from Dominican University.
